Objective
To plan, produce, and capture video content of Catherine Wessel’s editorial for Vulkan Magazine.
Idea
Set in 29 Palms, Joshua Tree, CA, we wanted to enhance the concept with a journey from earth to urban with a native touch through strong portrait video. 29 Palms as location was a perfect choice with its widespread open valleys, old industrial buildings and native scenery.
Result
Video production should be experienced and highly resonate with the story of the concept. Bearing this in mind, we created a visual experience around the journey from earth to urban. We built the video concept around a strong musical theme working with heavy native rhythms, highlighting ancient instrumentation like flutes and didgeridoo, and enhanced the journey “from earth to urban” with 80s synths and modern touches as the song progresses.
The Editorial together with our concept video was published on Vulkan Magazines platforms for their Spring -19 issue.
